The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is using the Oculus Rift headset to create a prototype network tool for cyberwarfare agents, Wired reports
Instead of seeing a flat representation of a computer network, a wearer would be able to look around himself and see the different parts of the system in an interactive, 3D field.
DARPA reps admit it’s a proof of concept right now, but the goal is to make cyberwarfare easier to visualize and to understand for those fighting online.
The headset tool is part of Darpa’s Plan X, a program to develop tools and strategies the Department of Defense can use in cyberwarfare. Read more...
