Former White House Press Secretary James Brady died on Monday. He was 73
"We are heartbroken to share the news that our beloved Jim 'Bear' Brady has passed away after a series of health issues," his family said in a statement, adding they were thankful they had to opportunity to say goodbye. A spokesperson for the family shared the news
"Jim touched the lives of so many and has been a wonderful husband, father, friend and role model," the family added, stating that they were "enormously proud" of his accomplishments.
Brady had served just 69 days in President Ronald Reagan's White House when, on March 30, 1981, John Hinckley, Jr. made an assassination attempt on the president and struck Brady in the head. He lived with a disability from that point onward. Read more...
