The midnight launch on Thursday of Re/code, Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher's tech media startup, coincided with the announcement of two investors in the site: NBCUniversal News Group and former Yahoo CEO Terry Semel's Windsor Media. Swisher and Mossberg previously helmed All Things D, the tech news and conference brand owned by The Wall Street Journal.
The agreement will provide funding for the new venture but leave Swisher (pictured above) and Mossberg with a controlling interest in the company. In turn, NBC will receive tech media coverage for its televised and print outlets
