'The Expendables 3' Studio Suing Torrent Sites That Shared Stolen Movie

Lionsgate is legally locked and loaded and coming for you, shadowy bad guys who torrented The Expendables 3.

The studio filed a lawsuit against 10 "John Does" who allegedly shared the unreleased film that was stolen, illegally uploaded and then downloaded more than 1 million times by now, according to The Hollywood Reporter , which broke news of the legal action Friday. Other estimates say Expendables 3 has been downloaded more than 2 million times.

Lionsgate discovered the theft of a high-quality copy of The Expendables 3 on July 24, and have traced all versions shared online back to that copy, according to the lawsuitTHR says Lionsgate's legal action targets limetorrents.com, billionuploads.com, hulfile.eu, played.to, swantshare.com and dotsemper.com — none of whom responded to the studio's demand letters.
