BeauCoo Wants Women to Shop Off Each Other, Not Models

Shopping for clothing online or from a catalog can be difficult, not least because the vast majority of women have bodies nothing like the models featured therein. A look styled on a size 2 body may not reproduce itself as wonderfully on a size 10, or a size 16 (if it's available) — a disappointing outcome for many shoppers, who sometimes blame not the clothes or the styling, but their own bodies.


Enter BeauCoo, which launched in late 2012 to help women share shopping and styling tips with other women of the same proportions. Using BeauCoo's website and (somewhat buggy) apps for iPhone and Android devices, women are prompted to enter their own body measurements, which then serves them a feed of images from other users — usually in dressing rooms — who are similarly sized.
