Woman Dies on US Airways Flight From Honolulu to Phoenix

Authorities in Phoenix say a passenger has died on a US Airways flight to Phoenix from Honolulu after suffering an unknown medical emergency.

Fire Capt. Benjamin Santillan says the passenger was a woman in her 50s.

Santillan says the woman lost consciousness while the plane was in the air. She had no pulse and was pronounced dead by responders after the plane arrived at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

Sky Harbor spokeswoman Julie Rodriguez says the flight — US Airways 693 — left Honolulu on Tuesday night and arrived in Phoenix shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, about 20 minutes after its scheduled arrival time. Read more...
